Cypress Creek Renewables is seeking a highly motivated candidate to lead the monitoring and the day-to-day operation of a rapidly growing portfolio of utility-scale PV & storage facilities. The Lead Control Center Operator will support individuals responsible for continuous real-time monitoring and control of Solar Facility safety, reliability, and output. The candidate will be trained in the essential knowledge and skills necessary to monitor and operate utility-scale solar generation facilities.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Assist Control Center Supervisor in leading the team members responsible for 24/7 monitoring and operations of numerous solar & storage facilities.
- Assist in the training and continuous improvement of personnel and processes utilized within the control center.
- Coordinates staff to ensure proper execution of job responsibilities of the individual and proper execution of company objectives.
- Assist with inclement weather incident response.
- Respond to DAS Alerts, and abnormal facility conditions via remote operations and alert appropriate parties.
- Act as point of contact for field technicians, remote plant operators, utilities, and operators regarding performance, control, and schedules for solar & storage facilities.
- Responsible for maintaining availability levels at each solar facility as well as following curtailment directives.
- Perform daily reporting of solar facility performance.
- Data analysis of underperforming systems.
- Aid field technicians with system troubleshooting and provide routine dispatch.
Preferred Education and/or Work Experience:
- A.S. or B.S. in a technical field of study.
- Knowledge of power generation design or operations.
- Knowledge of ERCOT Interconnection – ERCOT Trading.
- Knowledge of PV systems, including DC systems, AC medium voltage systems, and network communications and monitoring.
- Diagnostic capabilities to troubleshoot and correct problems found via DAS.
- Ability to read and understand electrical single-line and three-line diagrams.
- Proficiency with MS Office suite.
- Experience working with a CMMS platform (preferably for operations and maintenance of power generation facilities).
- Experience working with DAS.
Other Requirements/Work Environment:
- Work is to be performed in an office environment.
- This position is hourly with an expected workload of 40 hours per week, 4, 10-hour shifts per week, including weekends.
- Once a quarter, the lead operator is expected to work 3-4 Night shifts.
- Valid Driver’s License.

Location: The preferred location for this role is Durham, NC. Additionally, we are on a hybrid schedule 4/days a week and also include weekends.
