Cynon Taf Community Housing Group (CTCHG) is a housing association based in Rhondda Cynon Taf, committed to a vision of healthy valley communities. We provide quality homes to over 2,000 households and support families, older people, and vulnerable individuals. We are launching a new Health, Safety and Facilities Officer role to support staff and contractors in achieving robust workplace health and safety and maintaining the highest level of compliance with all legislation.
Responsibilities
- Work closely with teams across the organisation to develop and maintain health & safety policies, procedures, and compliance records.
- Support staff and contractors in implementing health & safety practices.
- Conduct risk assessments and ensure effective mitigation.
- Provide guidance on fire safety, CDM regulations, and building compliance.
- Oversee contractor management and facilities contracts.
Qualifications
Experience
- Minimum 5 yearsβ experience in a health & safety or facilities role, ideally within social housing or property management.
- Holder of NEBOSH General Certificate.
Knowledge
- H&S legislation including Health and Safety at Work Act, Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety Order), RIDDOR, COSHH, and other associated regulations.
- CDM regulations and building compliance requirements.
Skills & Abilities
- Excellent analytical, reporting and IT skills (Excel, Word, Outlook, housing systems).
- Strong customer focus, communication and collaboration abilities.
Other
- Valid full driving licence and daily access to a vehicle.
- Commitment to organisational values.
- Preferred: Membership of professional organisation Tech IOSH or Cert IOSH, fire safety qualifications (e.g., Fire Marshal, Fire Risk Assessment), First Aid or willingness to become a First Aider.
- Experience handling contractor management and facilities contracts.
Working Hours: 35 per week with option to work 2 days from home
Salary: Β£32,899 per annum
