Responsibilities:
- Provide direct service and assistance to customers, including registration of members, loan and receipt of items, dealing with stock requests and overdue items.
- Keep items in order, assist customers to select and find relevant items or information.
- Ensure a high level of customer care ensuring a welcoming, pleasant and well-kept environment for customers. This may be in person, over the phone, through email or the web or by other means.
- Keep accurate record of any messages and refer customers to other appropriate sources when necessary.
- Keep the library’s resources in good order to ensure efficient use by the customer.
- Check the condition of stock and act appropriately and circulate stock in line with stock rotation practices.
