The DDaT - Application Operations Engineer works within the IT Application Operations Engineering discipline in the DDaT Operations job family. The post involves the functions associated with the build, delivery and maintenance of the Council's applications and software systems. They will work within the engineering discipline and collaboratively with the other disciplines to implement high-quality, cost-effective Software solutions to meet a hugely complex range of business requirements across the organisation.

They will undertake research directed into emerging technologies in application integration, maintenance, monitoring and automation to ensure the Council are prepared for changes in the technology landscape. Reporting to the DDaT Lead Application Operations Engineer, this post will play a key role in achieving the strategic goals of the DDaT team. They will assist the Lead Engineer in developing effective solutions and undertake work on projects and business as usual works.

The post holder will support and mentor team members and ensure the council continually improve the performance, resilience, and security of its software systems. They will assist with the development of their team to meet the changing technology needs of the organisation through knowledge sharing, producing documents and guidelines and identifying areas to improve.
