The Governing Body of Ysgol Henry Richard wishes to appoint an exceptional Head of Administration to play a key role in the day-to-day development and operation of the school. The successful candidate will be expected to take up the post on 5 November 2026, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The successful candidate will be a highly organised, professional and dedicated person, with the ability to provide the highest quality administrative service and business support. They will join an enthusiastic and dedicated team of staff who work together to ensure the best possible opportunities for our pupils.

Excellent communication skills in both Welsh and English are essential, both verbally and in writing. The candidate will be expected to be able to form correspondence, communicate effectively with a wide range of stakeholders, and act as a professional point of contact for the school in both languages.

Excellent ICT skills, as well as confidence and flexibility to use a wide range of software systems and packages will be required. The candidate should possess the ability and willingness to continuously develop their digital knowledge and skills in order to respond to the changing demands of the job.

The role will also involve important financial responsibilities, including maintaining and monitoring booking systems, processing orders and bills, maintaining accurate expenditure records, and ensuring an effective overview of the school’s financial processes. Therefore, detailed attention to detail and strong organizing skills are essential requirements.

As the post involves dealing with sensitive and confidential information about staff, pupils and school procedures, the candidate will be expected to demonstrate the highest standards of professionalism, integrity and confidentiality at all times.

Flexibility in terms of duties is expected, along with the ability to work effectively as a member of a team and independently when required.

The ability to communicate fluently through the medium of Welsh and English is an essential requirement for this post.
