We are seeking a compassionate, organised, and motivated Direct Payment Support Officer to join our team. This role is ideal for someone passionate about supporting individuals to maintain independence and choice through effective direct payment support services.

About the Role

As a Direct Payment Support Officer, you will work closely with service users, carers, families, and partner organisations to provide guidance and support regarding direct payments and personalised care arrangements. You will help individuals understand and manage their direct payment packages, ensuring compliance with policies and promoting independence, dignity, and choice.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide advice and support to individuals receiving direct payments.
  • Assist service users with setting up and managing care arrangements.
  • Support with payroll, budgeting, and record-keeping guidance.
  • Liaise with social workers, care providers, and external agencies.
  • Monitor direct payment usage and ensure compliance with relevant policies and procedures.
  • Maintain accurate records and prepare reports when required.
  • Always promote safeguarding and wellbeing.

Requirements

  • Experience working within health, social care, local authority, or support services.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good organisational and administrative abilities.
  • Understanding direct payments, personal budgets, or social care services is desirable.
  • Ability to manage confidential information professionally.
  • Competent IT and record-management skills.
  • A caring, supportive, and person-centred approach.
  • Fluent Welsh Speaker.
