Cardiff Council’s Support and Accommodation Service provides accommodation, advice, and support to vulnerable single people and families in housing need.

Our services operate 24/7, 365 days a year.

The service has undergone significant changes, and successful candidates will contribute to its expansion.

About the job

This is a temporary position, covering maternity leave until 15th August 2026.

The Supported Accommodation team for families is based in multiple locations across the city.

The role involves managing the day-to-day operations of the Council’s supported accommodation portfolio, which offers temporary housing for clients and families who are homeless and assessed as in priority need.

As Supported Accommodation Officer, you will be responsible for a portfolio of properties and clients, building management, and organizing diversionary activities.

This is an exciting opportunity, and we welcome applications from people with diverse backgrounds to make a real difference. Experience working with individuals with complex behaviors and understanding issues faced by homeless individuals or families will be advantageous.

You should have experience working face-to-face with customers and a commitment to providing high-quality customer service. Good communication, administrative, and IT skills are essential, along with the ability to resolve disputes positively and constructively.

Proficiency in a community language would be an advantage.

This post is temporary until 15/08/2026.
