An opportunity has become available for a Section Leader (NEC4 Project Manager) working within the Design, Contracts and Delivery Section, providing Design, Contract and Construction Management on a range of infrastructure projects throughout Cardiff. Design Contracts and Delivery are a rapidly expanding team and are instrumental in the design and delivery of infrastructure projects within Cardiff.

The post will be required to undertake NEC4 project management role and quantity surveying role within the Design, Contracts and Delivery section whilst also leading a small team in a profit-driven, high-pressure environment, delivering highway schemes for Cardiff and surrounding authorities.

What We Are Looking For From You

We are looking for a motivated individual who can work as an individual or as part of a team to Project Manage highway infrastructure projects. Some of the main requirements of the role will be:

  • Delivery of Highway Schemes during the construction phase.
  • Compiling Contract documents based on Method of Measurement for highway works and NEC4.
  • Control expenditure within budgets to obtain best value.
  • Ensure work undertaken (in house or externally) is carried out in accordance with customer requirements and supports statutory requirements and legislation.
  • Co-ordination of consultants to ensure delivery of services.
  • Designing Highways schemes based on existing legislation and good practice.
  • Support and supervision of team members.

The successful candidate will ideally have proven experience as Project Manager in delivering highway projects, experience of NEC4 ECC contracts, experience of programming and resourcing projects, and will have proven experience of leading a delivery team.
