Cardiff Council is delivering one of the most ambitious and exciting affordable housing programmes in Wales. Due to the on-going expansion of our development programme, we are seeking a Project Manager with a good level of experience at the Pre-Contract stages to join the team.

The post holder will project manage new-build schemes through the Pre-Contract stage, ensuring we deliver the new homes we need across the city to help tackle the housing crisis. The post holder will work with our in-house teams and external partners to continually develop our housing in terms of affordability, design and specification. Working within designated timescales and budgets, you will ensure that we continue to deliver new homes at scale and pace, and to the challenging low/zero carbon standards expected of all new homes now and in the future. We currently adopt hybrid working combining home working and attendance in the office. Furthermore, you will need to attend site meetings as necessary.

What We Are Looking For From You

The successful candidate will demonstrate a proven track record of managing capital projects through the pre-construction stages with a focus on the delivery of affordable housing. You will have good working knowledge of the current standards and requirements set by Welsh Government around Design Quality requirements and Social Housing Grant. You must demonstrate a commitment to partnership working and building positive, productive working relationships. Experience in project managing capital programmes, coordinating multi-disciplinary teams, commercial awareness and sound technical knowledge are prerequisites to the post. The right individual will share our vision of delivering high quality, sustainable, low carbon homes at scale.

In return you will receive a competitive salary, excellent Pension package, and flexible working hours including the opportunity for hybrid working.
