Cardiff Harbour Authority\’s engineering maintenance team was established to maintain the Cardiff Barrage. A Mechanical Engineering position has become available within the Barrage Engineering Team.
About the job
Applicants must have completed a formal Mechanical apprenticeship and hold a suitable Engineering Certification (such as HNC or equivalent). The role requires extensive Mechanical Engineering knowledge, particularly related to hydraulics.
What We Are Looking For From You
This position offers a unique opportunity for individuals with significant Mechanical Engineering experience. The ideal candidate will be flexible, a team player with excellent communication skills, enthusiastic, and proactive. Fault finding and problem-solving skills are essential. Experience in heavy industry is also required.
The successful candidate must be willing to work outside normal hours and in all weather conditions. A key requirement is the ability to arrive on site and carry out rectification works within an hour of any major failure.
