An exciting opportunity has arisen within Cardiff Council's Corporate Policy and Cabinet Office Team for a Student Community Liaison Officer.
This unique role is jointly funded by Cardiff Council and Cardiff's three universities, reflecting a shared commitment to supporting positive student community life across the city. Based within Cardiff Council, the post will help strengthen partnership working between the Council, universities, Students' Unions and other key stakeholders, building strong relationships and supporting collaborative approaches to shared opportunities and challenges.
About the job
As the Student Community Liaison Officer, you will play a key role in supporting partnership working between Cardiff Council, universities, Students' Unions and other stakeholders. You will act as a key link between organisations, helping to build consensus, coordinate activity and support collaborative approaches to addressing shared challenges and opportunities.
You will use evidence, insight and research to support partnership planning and decision-making, helping partners develop shared priorities and coordinate action. You will support senior leaders to oversee partnership activity while working with operational leads across organisations to enable delivery and maintain momentum. You will monitor progress against agreed priorities, prepare reports and briefings for senior leaders and partners, and provide support to the Cardiff Student Community Partnership, the city's main forum for collaboration on student community matters. You will also help strengthen communication and engagement between students, universities and the Council, ensuring that student voices are reflected in partnership activity.
What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for a motivated and organised individual with excellent communication, engagement and relationship-building skills. You will have experience of working with a range of stakeholders, coordinating activity across organisations, and supporting partnership or collaborative approaches to delivery.
You will be able to gather, analyse and interpret information to support planning and decision-making, produce clear reports and briefings for a range of audiences, and manage competing priorities effectively. You will be confident facilitating discussions, identifying shared priorities and helping to translate ideas into coordinated action.
