An exciting opportunity has arisen to join the Business Support Team within Customer & Protective Services.

The team provides multifunctional business, administrative and performance support across the Service Area. This includes maintaining accurate information, supporting performance reporting, analysing data, producing reports and dashboards, and helping services use digital technology effectively and responsibly.

We are looking for a motivated and organised Resource Assistant who is interested in using digital tools, data and technology to support efficient services and evidence-led improvement.

ABOUT THE JOB

As a Resource Assistant, you will provide high-quality administrative and business support across Customer & Protective Services.

You will help collect, maintain, check and analyse performance and management information, ensuring that records and data are accurate, reliable and presented clearly. You will support the preparation of reports, dashboards, presentations and data visualisations for managers, colleagues and partner organisations.

The role will involve:

  • Providing a multifunctional administrative and business support service.
  • Using Microsoft 365 and other approved Council systems to maintain records and produce information.
  • Collecting, cleansing, validating, organising and analysing qualitative and quantitative data.
  • Identifying trends, exceptions, risks and opportunities for service improvement.
  • Producing clear reports, dashboards, presentations and data visualisations.
  • Supporting performance management, delivery planning, risk management, workforce planning, knowledge management and business continuity arrangements.
  • Maintaining accurate records, audit trails and appropriate data-quality checks.
  • Supporting quality systems, audits, accreditation and continuous improvement activity.
  • Helping to map, streamline and improve routine administrative processes.
  • Supporting colleagues to make effective use of approved corporate digital systems.
  • Contributing to the work of the wider Business Support Team and providing cover when required.

WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR FROM YOU

We are looking for someone with good organisational, communication, numeracy and digital skills who can work accurately and effectively as part of a team.

You should:

  • Have experience of working with customers or internal service users.
  • Have experience of using Microsoft 365 or other digital business systems to maintain records and produce information.
  • Have a basic understanding of performance management and how data can be used to monitor and improve services.
  • Be able to communicate clearly by telephone, in person and in writing.Be able to organise and prioritise your workload, meet deadlines and maintain accurate records.
  • Be able to collect, validate, organise, analyse and interpret data.
  • Be able to produce clear reports, presentations, dashboards or data visualisations.
  • Have good attention to detail and be able to identify errors, anomalies, trends and risks.
  • Be willing to learn new systems and build your digital, AI and analytical capability.
  • Understand the importance of confidentiality, data protection, information governance, cyber security and responsible use of information.

Knowledge or experience of Power BI, Power Automate, dashboards, process mapping, automation, quality systems or approved AI-enabled tools would be advantageous but is not essential.

You will be positive, curious and willing to adapt to changing technology and ways of working. You will take ownership of your work, use sound judgement and demonstrate a commitment to high-quality customer service, equality, accessibility and inclusion.
