Cardiff Council aims to provide a high quality, accessible housing finance service. The Service currently has a full time vacancy for a senior graded Finance Officer within the Housing Finance Team.
About the job
The main function of the post is to be responsible for the recovery of rent arrears for an area of the city and to take all appropriate recovery action. Supporting Council tenants in financial hardship is also required and in addition to this, the post holder will be responsible for mentoring and monitoring the work of lower graded Finance Officers.
What We Are Looking For From You
Essential requirements include experience in debt recovery for rent or other debts up to and including legal action, the ability to follow complex procedures and the use of IT systems. Finance Officers also conduct lone visits to customers’ homes and therefore previous experience of undertaking home visits is also essential.
Experience of supervising and mentoring others and providing formal and informal feed back would be an advantage.
