CTS is responsible for a fleet of over 900 vehicles and around 600 pieces of small plant equipment. Approximately 100 of these vehicles are Operator licenced vehicles, mainly RCV's and support the cities cleaning operations. To support all these assets the council has a large main workshop in Grangetown and 2 smaller satellite workshops at operating centres. Our Fleet Admin Department (FAD) helps to support all the vital functions of the Council where vehicles are needed. FAD does this by ensuring maintenance records, fuel, and taxation, internal or external charges all happen smoothly and in compliance with regulations. The work can be varied and good communications are needed to ensure the busy operation stays on track.
We are keen to recruit a person with relevant experience who is able to deal with a varied and demanding workload. The duties will include providing administrative support to the Fleet Admin Department, including assisting the Business Manager with recharges, journals, invoicing departments, dealing with financial queries and auditing out FMIT System to ensure accuracy of data. This includes day to day admin duties and assistance to the Fleet Support Supervisor, including processing of invoices, ensuring data held in the Transport Management Software System is accurate and up to date, filing and management of Parking Charge Notices, CTS Reception, administration of the hire desk, raising orders via SAP and Insurance Claims.
The successful applicant will need to have the relevant experience and be flexible in the way they work as the day to day needs of the service are varied. Training will be given and an ability to continually self-develop would be highly desirable. An interest in Accounting/Finance would be welcomed. We expect the individual appointed to take personal responsibility for delivering excellence, to work with others to achieve the best possible outcomes, to embrace change and new opportunities, to make the most of the resources available and to think and act in the best interests of the Council.
