About the job
You will manage the day-to-day delivery of waste collections services, ensuring that operations run safely, efficiently and in line with council and regulatory standards.
You will work closely with managers, frontline supervisors and operational teams to coordinate resources, resolve issues and support consistent service delivery across a fast‑paced frontline environment.
- Manage and be accountable for daily operational activity to help ensure effective service delivery.
- Work collaboratively with managers, transport colleagues and frontline teams to coordinate resources and maintain operational resilience.
- Help identify and resolve operational issues in a timely and practical way.
- Monitor performance information and contribute to reports, analysis and decision-making.
- Promote compliance with health and safety requirements, council policies and service procedures.
- Contribute to a positive team culture through effective communication and a proactive approach to problem-solving.
- What We Are Looking For From You
We are looking for someone with experience in operations management, ideally within a waste collections, transport or similarly demanding frontline service environment.
You will have strong organisational skills, good operational awareness and the ability to work effectively as part of a large team.
You should be confident handling changing priorities, interpreting operational information and communicating clearly with colleagues at all levels.
- Experience in an operational management or coordination role.
- An understanding of transport or waste collection operations.
- Strong analytical and organisational skills.
