Are you an experienced Registered Manager looking for a senior opportunity with responsibility across two care homes? We're recruiting on behalf of an established and growing care provider for a Dual Registered Manager to oversee two care homes across Reading and Wokingham. The portfolio consists of a medium-sized nursing home in Reading and a smaller residential care home in Wokingham, providing a combined 72 beds. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced care home leader to take ownership of two services, providing strong operational leadership while driving quality, compliance, occupancy and overall performance.

The Role

As Dual Registered Manager, you'll have overall responsibility for the successful operation of both homes, ensuring residents receive consistently high-quality, person-centred care. You'll provide visible leadership across both services, developing the management teams and creating a culture of accountability, continuous improvement and excellent care. You'll also take responsibility for regulatory compliance and operational and commercial performance, ensuring both homes are well positioned for future CQC inspections.

Key Responsibilities

  • Hold overall operational responsibility for two care homes across Reading and Wokingham.
  • Provide strong, visible leadership across both services.
  • Ensure consistently high standards of person-centred care.
  • Maintain compliance with CQC regulations, safeguarding requirements and internal governance standards.
  • Ensure both services are fully prepared for future CQC inspections.
  • Lead, coach and develop the management and care teams across both homes.
  • Monitor and improve quality, compliance and operational performance.
  • Drive occupancy and support sustainable commercial performance.
  • Manage staffing levels, recruitment, retention and agency usage effectively.
  • Oversee budgets and ensure resources are managed effectively.
  • Implement and monitor improvement plans where required.
  • Build strong relationships with residents, relatives, professionals, commissioners and other key stakeholders.
  • Work closely with the senior leadership team to support the wider objectives of the organisation.

About You

  • Previous experience as a Registered Care Home Manager within elderly care.
  • Strong experience managing a nursing home or a combination of nursing and residential care services.
  • Experience managing multiple services or the capability to progress into dual-site responsibility.
  • Excellent knowledge of CQC regulations, safeguarding, governance and quality assurance.
  • A strong track record of maintaining or improving care quality.
  • Experience preparing services for CQC inspections.
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to develop, motivate and hold teams accountable.
  • Good commercial awareness, including occupancy, staffing, agency usage and budget management.
  • The ability to balance operational priorities across two services.
  • A hands-on, visible and supportive leadership style.
  • Full UK driving licence and the ability to travel regularly between Reading and Wokingham.
