We are recruiting on behalf of a reputable, family-run care provider for an experienced and dedicated Clinical Deputy Manager to support the leadership of a well-established, medium-sized nursing home in Dover with a Good CQC rating. The Role
Reporting to the Home Manager, you will take responsibility for the clinical oversight of the service, ensuring safe, effective and compliant nursing care is delivered at all times. You will lead the clinical team, support nurses and carers on shift, and drive continuous quality improvement across the home. You will act as the clinical lead within the service, supporting governance, audits, medication management and best practice, while deputising for the Home Manager in their absence.
Key Responsibilities
- Providing clinical leadership and guidance to the nursing and care team
- Supporting the Home Manager with the day-to-day clinical operations of the home
- Ensuring high-quality, person-centred nursing care is delivered consistently
- Overseeing care planning, risk assessments and clinical documentation
- Monitoring clinical standards including wound care, falls, nutrition and infection control
- Leading medication management and medicines governance
- Conducting clinical audits and driving continuous quality improvement
- Supporting CQC compliance, inspections and action plans
- Supervising, mentoring and developing nurses and senior care staff
- Supporting staff competency assessments and clinical training
- Assisting with rota management and ensuring safe staffing levels
- Supporting pre-admission assessments and clinical decision making
- Managing incidents, safeguarding concerns and clinical investigations
- Deputising for the Home Manager in their absence
About You
- Registered Nurse (RGN or RMN) with active NMC pin
- Experience as a Clinical Deputy Manager, Unit Manager or Senior Nurse in a nursing home
- Strong clinical knowledge within elderly care and complex needs
- Good understanding of CQC regulations and clinical governance
- Experience supporting audits and improving quality outcomes
- Confident leading and supporting multidisciplinary teams
- Strong communication and leadership skills
- Passionate about delivering outstanding care
