We're recruiting on behalf of a family-owned care provider seeking an experienced Registered Nurse to join a well-established, medium-sized nursing home in Cranbrook, Kent. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced nurse who is passionate about delivering high-quality, person-centred care and is looking to join a friendly and supportive team.
The Role
As a Registered Nurse, you'll play an important role in delivering safe, effective and person-centred nursing care to residents while supporting the wider care team. You'll work closely with the Home Manager and colleagues to maintain strong clinical standards and ensure residents receive consistently high-quality care. The position is 36 hours per week, working 12-hour shifts with paid breaks. The role will be predominantly days, although you'll need to be flexible to cover occasional night shifts when required, primarily for annual leave or sickness cover.
Key Responsibilities
- Deliver high-quality, person-centred nursing care.
- Safely administer medication and maintain accurate clinical records.
- Develop, review and maintain care plans and risk assessments.
- Monitor residents' health and respond appropriately to changes in their clinical needs.
- Support and guide Care Assistants throughout each shift.
- Work closely with the Home Manager and wider care team.
- Liaise effectively with families and external healthcare professionals.
- Maintain strong standards of clinical governance, safeguarding and infection control.
- Support the service in maintaining compliance with CQC requirements and best practice.
- Provide flexibility across the nursing rota, including occasional night cover when required.
About You
- Registered Nurse qualification (RGN) with a valid NMC PIN.
- Previous post-qualification nursing experience.
- Strong clinical skills and confidence working autonomously.
- A compassionate and person-centred approach to care.
- Good communication and teamwork skills.
- Flexibility to work predominantly days while providing occasional night cover.
- A full UK driving licence and access to your own vehicle due to the rural location of the service and lack of suitable public transport.
Candidates from outside the care home sector will also be considered, including nurses from an NHS background. The priority is finding someone with the right clinical experience, attitude and fit for the existing team. The service is looking for someone with post-qualification experience rather than a newly qualified nurse.
