Are you an experienced Procurement Manager looking for the opportunity to take full ownership of a procurement function within a complex, multi-site organisation? We are recruiting on behalf of an established retirement living organisation operating a portfolio of communities across the UK. They are looking to appoint an experienced Procurement Manager to lead and further develop their procurement function, working closely with Finance, Property, Facilities Management, Operations and other key stakeholders across the business.

This is a highly autonomous role offering a combination of strategic procurement, hands-on supplier and contract management, stakeholder engagement and procurement systems optimisation.

The Role

Reporting to the Commercial Finance Director, you will take full ownership of procurement across a multi-site and multi-entity organisation. The business has already made significant progress in centralising procurement and creating greater consistency across its portfolio. Your role will be to build on these foundations, strengthen procurement processes and controls, improve supplier management and drive the next phase of procurement transformation. You will also take ownership of the organisation's P2P procurement platform, reviewing how the system is currently being used and identifying opportunities to improve workflows, automation, reporting and user adoption. Working with a small amount of administrative support, this is a standalone position and will suit someone who enjoys taking ownership, building effective processes and operating both strategically and hands-on.

Key Responsibilities

  • Take ownership of the procurement function across a complex, multi-site organisation, driving greater consistency and compliance across multiple operational locations
  • Manage supplier negotiations, commercial agreements, contracts, renewals and re-tenders
  • Lead supplier onboarding and due diligence, ensuring appropriate contracts, pricing and terms are in place
  • Partner with Property, FM, Operations, Marketing and Finance to identify procurement opportunities and deliver commercial value
  • Support major sourcing projects across areas including Property, FM, FF&E, OS&E and capital expenditure
  • Deliver measurable cost savings, cost avoidance, improved commercial terms and supplier performance
  • Improve visibility of spend, commitments, contract expiry dates and procurement activity
  • Strengthen procurement governance, approval processes and audit trails
  • Act as the technical owner and super-user of the organisation's P2P procurement platform, reviewing and optimising approval workflows, supplier records, catalogues and reporting
  • Lead further system improvements and implementation projects
  • Develop procurement processes, documentation and user guidance, supporting and training operational teams to improve system adoption and procurement compliance
  • Produce meaningful procurement MI and reporting for senior leadership
  • Build strong relationships across operational locations while confidently challenging non-compliant or off-process purchasing

About You

We are looking for an experienced procurement professional who is commercially minded, systems-focused and comfortable operating autonomously. You will ideally have:

  • Proven Procurement Manager-level experience within a multi-site, operationally complex organisation
  • Experience working within hospitality or hotels would be particularly advantageous
  • Strong experience within a multi-entity and multi-cost-centre environment
  • Broad indirect procurement experience
  • Strong supplier negotiation, tendering and contract management experience
  • Exposure to categories such as Property, FM, FF&E, OS&E or other operational expenditure
  • Strong P2P or procurement systems experience, ideally including system optimisation, configuration or implementation, alongside experience improving or automating procurement processes and workflows
  • Strong commercial experience with evidence of delivering savings, cost avoidance and improved supplier performance
  • Excellent stakeholder management skills with the ability to influence both operational teams and senior leadership
  • Confidence working independently and taking full ownership of a procurement function, with a proactive, engaging and collaborative approach

Experience with Coupa would be highly advantageous, although candidates with strong technical ownership of other P2P/procurement platforms will also be considered. CIPS qualification, or working towards CIPS, would also be advantageous but is not essential.

What's on Offer?

  • £65,000–£75,000 salary
  • Up to 10% annual bonus
  • Hybrid working with approximately 2–3 days per week in the London Victoria office
  • Significant autonomy and ownership, with the opportunity to shape and further develop an established procurement function
  • High level of exposure across Finance, Property, Operations and senior leadership
  • Opportunity to lead meaningful procurement and systems transformation within a growing, customer-focused organisation

If you're an experienced Procurement Manager from a multi-site environment who enjoys combining commercial procurement with systems improvement, stakeholder engagement and transformation, we'd be very interested in speaking with you. Apply today or get in touch for a confidential conversation.
