Join us as a Senior Site Reliability Engineer and play a hands‑on role in building, operating and improving the reliability, availability and performance of Cynergy Bank’s cloud‑native platforms and services. You will work at the heart of our technology estate, helping ambitious businesses and individuals achieve their goals through our award‑winning human digital banking model.
What’s the opportunity? This is a senior, delivery‑focused Site Reliability Engineering role within our Cloud Infrastructure function. You will have shared ownership for the reliability and performance of our production platforms, working closely with software engineers, platform teams and security colleagues to ensure systems are resilient, observable and well‑run in live environments. This role is deliberately hands‑on and focuses on operational excellence, automation and continuous improvement.
Technology Environment Our platforms are built on Google Cloud Platform (GCP), with Kubernetes (GKE) at the core. We use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to manage environments and place a strong emphasis on automation, observability and production reliability across our services.
Location You will enjoy hybrid working, with 3 days based in our Central London office and 2 days working remotely.

Responsibilities
- Build and operate highly available cloud‑native platforms with a focus on resilience and fault tolerance.
- Identify and remove single points of failure across platforms and services.
- Respond to and resolve live production incidents as part of a shared on‑call rota.
- Lead or contribute to post‑incident reviews, identifying root causes and preventative actions.
- Improve observability through effective monitoring, alerting and logging.
- Support Kubernetes‑based workloads and associated tooling.
- Use Infrastructure as Code (Terraform) to deliver consistent, repeatable environments.
- Work collaboratively across engineering, platform and security teams to improve reliability and reduce operational risk.
Qualifications
- Strong hands‑on experience supporting production systems in a cloud environment.
- Practical experience operating containerised workloads using Kubernetes.
- Experience using Terraform or similar Infrastructure as Code tooling.
- Proven ability to troubleshoot and resolve complex system issues under pressure.
- A calm, methodical approach during incidents, with the ability to prioritise effectively.
- Clear communication skills and the ability to collaborate across technical and non‑technical teams.
- Experience within regulated or financial services environments is desirable.
