Join us as Head of Operational Resilience and play a critical role in strengthening how the Bank prevents, adapts to, responds to and recovers from disruption. You’ll lead the development and embedding of our Operational Resilience Framework within the First Line, ensuring our Important Business Services (IBS) remain resilient and compliant with regulatory expectations.
This is a high-impact role at the centre of the Bank’s resilience agenda. You will own the Operational Resilience programme, working closely with Risk, Technology, Outsourcing and Business Service Owners to embed strong governance, deliver scenario testing and lead the annual self-assessment presented to Executive and Board committees. Your work will directly influence the Bank’s ability to meet FCA/PRA expectations and strengthen its control environment.

How you will make an impact:
- Lead and maintain the Operational Resilience Framework within the First Line.
- Own the annual Operational Resilience programme, including Board-level self-assessment.
- Identify, map and maintain Important Business Services and critical dependencies.
- Facilitate scenario testing and resilience assessments, ensuring clear outcomes and follow-up.
- Define and review impact tolerances with Risk and Business stakeholders.
- Drive remediation and continuous improvement in resilience and control maturity.
- Ensure alignment with FCA/PRA requirements and internal risk frameworks.
- Maintain high-quality documentation to support governance, audit and regulatory oversight.
- Build strong cross-functional relationships across Risk, Technology and Business teams.
- Identify opportunities to improve efficiency and maturity across resilience processes.
What you will bring:
- Experience in Operational Resilience, Risk Management or similar within UK banking.
- Strong understanding of FCA/PRA Operational Resilience requirements.
- Experience in scenario testing, impact tolerance setting and dependency mapping.
- Knowledge of enterprise risk frameworks and control environments.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to identify risks and improvement opportunities.
- Confident communicator, able to engage senior stakeholders and facilitate workshops.
- Organised, proactive and delivery-focused.
- Collaborative approach, comfortable working across multiple teams.
