We have a strong track record supporting businesses that want to scale up and provide over £3bn lending to scaling businesses across the UK, we also offer retail deposits to UK savers. Our vision is to provide a truly personalised service that is delivered through face-to-face relationships and enhanced by the latest technology.

This is a deal-led role with real accountability. As an Associate Director, you’ll originate, structure and execute lending transactions—working directly with customers, introducers and senior stakeholders across the bank. From first conversation through to completion, you will shape deals, influence outcomes and build a sustainable pipeline of high-quality opportunities. You’ll work across mid-market and complex transactions, gaining exposure to a range of structures while building relationships that drive repeat business.

What you’ll do:

  • Originate opportunities through your network of borrowers, introducers and advisors
  • Own deal progression from early-stage structuring through to completion
  • Lead credit analysis, including cashflow modelling, risk assessment and structuring
  • Prepare and present credit papers for internal approval forums
  • Execute transactions, including negotiation of LMA-based documentation
  • Coordinate across Credit, Risk, Legal and Operations to deliver deals efficiently
  • Build a consistent pipeline of commercially sound lending opportunities

Why this role stands out:

  • End-to-end ownership – you are not feeding into deals, you are helping lead them
  • Meaningful exposure – work directly with senior stakeholders and decision-makers
  • Deal quality – focus on well-structured, sustainable transactions
  • A credible platform – part of a bank that has deployed over £4bn into UK businesses since 2018

What you’ll bring:

  • Experience in lending, structured finance or development finance
  • Strong credit analysis and financial modelling capability
  • A track record of originating or executing transactions
  • Working knowledge of LMA documentation and deal processes
  • Sound commercial judgement with a balanced approach to risk
  • Strong relationship-building and stakeholder management skills

Where you’ll work: St Pauls, Central London (3 days in the office, 2 from home)

How we will support you:

  • 28 days annual leave + public holidays + plus your birthday off!
  • Competitive salary + performance-linked bonus (up to 30%)
  • Pension (5% employer / 4% employee from month 4)
  • Life cover (4x salary) and income protection from day one
  • Private medical cover post-probation (or cash plan alternative)
  • Hybrid working (3 days office / 2 from home)

Additional benefits:

  • Holiday purchase scheme
  • Electric vehicle scheme
  • Professional development and qualifications support
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP)
  • Cycle to Work and season ticket loan
  • Enhanced family-friendly policies
  • Wellbeing and lifestyle support

This role is best suited to someone who can take transactions beyond origination—through structuring, credit and execution. If you’re currently close to deals but not yet owning them end-to-end, this is an opportunity to step up into that space. If your experience is purely early-stage origination without execution exposure, it may not offer the right fit at this stage. This advert outlines the key responsibilities and requirements. A full job description will be shared with shortlisted candidates. If you don’t meet every requirement, we still encourage you to apply. We use anonymous screening at the first stage of recruitment to ensure fair and inclusive hiring. Apply now to play a central role in driving origination at Cynergy Bank.
