This is a permanent leadership role at the heart of our technology transformation. Reporting to the Director of Engineering, you will lead one of the bank’s core engineering pillars and be responsible for the delivery of your own portfolio of digital platforms, apps, and microservices. You will oversee the engineering teams building and operating Cynergy Bank’s customer‑facing applications and core digital microservices on Google Cloud. This includes mobile and web applications built in Flutter for our Online Banking platform, and a Next.js‑based public website. The role is delivery‑focused, with responsibility for execution, engineering standards, and outcomes rather than architecture ownership. You will drive the development of secure, scalable, and cloud‑native applications, while embedding automation and AI capabilities into digital journeys to improve customer experience and operational efficiency. Your work will directly influence customer engagement, platform reliability, and the bank’s digital growth strategy.

How You Will Make An Impact:
- Lead one of the bank’s core engineering pillars, with full accountability for delivery across digital apps and microservices.
- Oversee the development and operation of customer‑facing mobile, web, and API platforms.
- Deliver cloud‑native microservices on Google Cloud using modern engineering practices.
- Work closely with Product and Product Owners to align engineering delivery with customer and business priorities.
- Drive engineering standards across backend, frontend, and mobile platforms.
- Implement and improve CI/CD pipelines using modern tooling, including Kubernetes and ArgoCD.
- Embed automation and AI capabilities into digital journeys where appropriate.
- Implement Agile, DevOps, and automated testing practices to improve delivery speed and quality.
- Work closely with the Director of Engineering, Architecture, Risk, Compliance, and Information Security to ensure secure and compliant delivery.
- Mentor and develop engineering teams across app, web, and backend services, fostering a strong engineering culture.
What You Will Bring:
- Proven experience leading software engineering or digital engineering teams.
- Strong hands‑on background as a senior software engineer before moving into leadership.
- Significant experience programming in Go, Flutter, and Next.js or modern JavaScript/TypeScript frameworks.
- Experience delivering production‑grade applications and microservices in a cloud‑native environment.
- Strong hands‑on experience with Google Cloud Platform.
- Experience building and operating CI/CD pipelines, including Kubernetes‑based deployments, GitOps practices, and ArgoCD or similar tooling.
- Experience working closely with Product teams and delivering in an Agile, product‑led environment.
- Understanding of secure coding practices, API security, and regulatory controls in financial services.
- Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement skills, with the ability to influence across engineering and business teams.
