Are you passionate about sport, community development, and making a lasting impact in Wales? The Cymru Football Foundation (CFF) is working to become Wales’ most impactful sporting charity with an ambition to put a quality football facility within 15 minutes of every community in Wales, giving priority to those who need them most.

They have already:

  • Directly invested over £20m into 41 new or upgraded artificial pitches, 19 new grass pitches and 34 clubhouses and changing rooms.
  • Invested £8.5m in the 30% most deprived communities in Wales.
  • Directed £9m+ towards multi-sport projects that benefit both football and at least one other sport.
  • Leveraged a further £15m in funding contributions towards supported projects.

The Cymru Football Foundation is seeking an Independent Chair to lead its Board of Trustees and guide the next stage of its journey to becoming Wales most impactful sporting charity. This is an exceptional opportunity for an experienced Chair who is passionate about inclusion and accessibility, strong governance, and the power of sport to transform lives and communities.

As Independent Chair, you will lead the Board of Trustees, ensuring the Cymru Football Foundation remains well-governed, strategically focused, and able to deliver its charitable objectives effectively and sustainably. You will bring independence, strong governance expertise, and a commitment to inclusive and values-based leadership.

You do not need to have a football background - just a belief in its potential to change lives. This is a voluntary position with reasonable travel and expenses reimbursed. The Board meets four times per year for up to three hours in-person. The Chair will additionally meet with the Directors to help shape meeting agendas and content, lead performance review and ensure a strong relationship between Board and Executive team.
