Responsibilities include:

  • Analysis of Metallic & Composite structural components.
  • Working with a team responsible for the review and analysis of aircraft structural modifications to show compliance to FAR/CAR regulations.
  • Development of Global Finite Element Model (GFEM) for loads.
  • Development of DFEM for sizing parts having complex configuration.
  • Development of Analysis templates using classical methods.
  • Reviewing technical presentations, interpreting results, and presenting to customers during PDR & CDR gates.
  • Ensuring 100% quality and on-time delivery.
  • Conducting project review meetings to share lessons learned and best practices to improve quality.
  • Providing alternative solutions on field issues.
  • Implementing process improvements by developing automation tools.
  • Working on complex CAE problems to assist product development.
  • Performing design modifications as needed and validating with FEA.

Must have skills:

  • Expertise in handling various structural analysis tools preferably MSC Nastran/Patran, HyperMesh.
  • 2D & 3D Finite Element modeling of simple, moderate, and complex components using MSC Nastran/Patran or HyperMesh.
  • Linear and non-linear static stress analysis using MSC Nastran/Patran.
  • Ability to interpret and modify MSC Nastran command statements in bulk data files and re-run analysis.
  • Good knowledge of hand calculations and proposing methods for structural failure modes.
  • Able to perform F&DT analysis.
  • Understanding and modifying TCL macros; developing MS Excel templates and comprehending VBA for automation.
  • Proposing methodology and strategy for complex metallic and composites build/update of FE Models in Patran/HyperMesh.
  • Familiarity with methods/processes/procedures similar to Airbus, Boeing, Bombardier, or any defence programmes.

Desired Skills:

  • Experience in scripting using Mathcad, VB, TCL/Tk, Python.
  • Basic knowledge of CAD tools.
  • Experience in product development life cycle of aircraft components from design concept, analysis to manufacturing.
  • Familiarity with PLM tools like Teamcenter, Windchill.
  • Experience in the use of ISAMI, Airbus tools.
  • Stress Signatory experience is an added advantage.
