Your Role

Service Line: Personality Disorder (Female)

Summary: We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Occupational Therapist to join our team at Cygnet Aspen Clinic. The successful post holder will be appointed at either Band 6 or Band 7 equivalent, depending on their skills and experience.

  • Post: Band 6 equivalent Occupational Therapist
  • Salary: £39,015 – £46,981 full time equivalent (dependent on experience)
  • Post: Band 7 equivalent Occupational Therapist
  • Salary: £48,221 full time equivalent
  • Site: Cygnet Aspen Clinic
  • Hours: 40 Hours (full time equivalent)
  • Contract: Fixed-Term (Maternity Cover) – 6 months with potential for permanent role
  • Start Date: 2nd June 2025

Cygnet Aspen Clinic (Mexborough, S64 9EX) is a specialist service for women with a diagnosis of personality disorder and associated complex needs. We provide assessment, stabilisation, treatment and rehabilitation for up to 16 women. Our service users may have complex trauma histories or have experienced regular placement breakdowns. At Cygnet Aspen Clinic, we provide a collaborative, multidisciplinary approach to care and treatment with a focus on recovery and co-production with service users.

At Cygnet Aspen Clinic we operate an integrated modular approach to treatment for women with a diagnosis of personality disorder, accounting for diagnostic differences, NICE guidelines and the work of Livesley (2004). Our multi-modal treatment pathway consists of a range of therapeutic models including Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Trauma-focused Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (TF-CBT), and Compassion focused Therapy (CFT).

This position offers an opportunity to shape and develop occupational therapy provision at Aspen Clinic. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in delivering high quality assessments and interventions supporting patient recovery through evidence based occupational therapy approaches.

Working as part of a multidisciplinary team, you will collaborate closely with other professionals to enhance patient outcomes and promote functional independence. Additionally, the post holder will be responsible for the clinical supervision of the Occupational Therapy Assistant on site, ensuring high standards of practice and professional development.

Occupational Therapy Directorate

Under the leadership of our occupational therapy directors, we support over 180 Occupational Therapists and over 300 OT support staff. Working together as a large team we provide support to each other across the group, with the opportunity to be part of specialist interest groups & become involved in service development.

Every service line has a clinical lead occupational therapist to lead and develop evidence-based practice and an agreed occupational therapy pathway through dedicated OT service line meetings facilitated throughout the year. We ensure our occupational therapy team members have a voice through participating in service model development, utilising the expertise and support of our clinical lead occupational therapists.
