We are seeking an experienced Installation Technician to install aftermarket electronics, vehicle security systems and emergency lighting to a full range of vehicles, including HGV (and fire appliances), motorhomes and plant. A knowledge of vehicle electrics is required, as is an excellent standard of work. The successful candidate will be working on customer sites throughout the North East, or at Cygnal in Durham. A company van, fuel card and phone will be provided. The successful applicant will need to be flexible at work and presentable for customer facing. A DBS check is required for some of our clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Install aftermarket vehicle electronics such as parking sensors, reversing cameras and dash cameras.
  • Install vehicle security equipment such as immobilisers, trackers and alarms.
  • Install emergency lighting and two-way radio systems.
  • Provide quality customer service to customers and visitors.
  • Complete required documentation relating to the work carried out.
  • Adhere to both Cygnal and its clients’ health & safety requirements.
  • Take responsibility for the company vehicle and other company issued equipment.
  • Maintain van stock and be accountable for inventory management.
  • Collect revenue by receiving and securely recording payments including cash and card transactions.
Skills and Experience
  • Experience in the automotive industry (2 years).
  • Experience installing aftermarket vehicle electronics (1 year).
  • Full valid UK driving licence.
  • Good written and verbal communication.
  • Ability to plan and prioritise workload.
  • Good level of Maths and English.
  • Proactive approach to problem solving and keen attention to detail.
