As a valued member of our Strategic Projects team, you will play a key part in delivering the Welsh Government-funded Nature Network Programme; an ambitious initiative focused on enhancing biodiversity and improving the condition of protected sites across Wales. This is a fantastic opportunity for those looking to take their first step into the environmental sector in an administrative capacity. This role is a fixed-term appointment until the 29/01/2027. Interviews will take place through Microsoft Teams. Successful applicants will be subject to a satisfactory Disclosure and Barring Service Check (DBS) check. Appointments are normally made within 4 to 8 weeks of the closing date.
Responsibilities- Provide general administrative support for the delivery of the Nature Networks Programme and its objectives, targets and in reporting progress to agreed milestones.
- Support with financial management, recording, monitoring and reporting on progress and delivery.
- Support specific areas of the programme in tracking programme delivery and spend, including reconciling and forecasting for programme management monthly reports.
- Support in forecasting/budget planning for future years in specific areas agreed with the Strategic Projects Manager.
- Arranging and coordinating meetings and events including venue, agenda, refreshments, logistics and attendance records.
- Recording accurate meeting minutes/actions for Team meetings, Capital Board meetings and issuing in a timely manner.
- Assist with purchases and procurements.
- Assist the programme teams with data entry and data management, production of reports and other documents.
- Maintain good working relationships with colleagues throughout NRW and partner organisations to minimise duplication and share best practice.
- Handle and respond to basic customer inquiries.
- Undertake a programme of training and development.
- Undertake health and safety duties and responsibilities appropriate to the post.
- Be committed to Natural Resources Wales Equal Opportunities and Diversity Policy, together with an understanding of how it operates within the responsibilities of the post.
- Be committed to your own development through the effective use of your personal development plan (known as Sgwrs).
- Required to take part in incident response activities.

In your application and interview you will be asked to demonstrate the following skills and experience using the STAR method:
- Excellent working knowledge of MS Office suite of programmes - Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook.
- Knowledge of other database applications (desirable).
- Good programme and project administrative skills.
- Good communication and inter-personal skills with a customer focus.
- Ability to build effective working relationships with colleagues and partners.
- Ability to manage and prioritise a busy workload and deliver results to timescales.
