XR System Engineer

The Centre is seeking a skilled XR System Engineer to join its fast-growing team in Nicosia, Cyprus. The successful candidate will play a crucial role in developing XR core technologies, integrating them into prototypes, and showcasing technical demo applications using game engines for the Extended Experiences Research Group, under the supervision of the Director of Research, Prof. Fotis Liarokapis.

• Develop AR/VR rendering technology for a realistic sense of presence.
• Create AR/VR system technology for ultra-low latency, power efficiency, and compact wearables.
• Innovate AR/VR content creation technology for Metaverse workflows.
• Integrate the above technologies into XR prototype systems and demonstrate technical applications with games engines.

General qualifications and requirements:

• University Degree, Bachelor's degree and/or postgraduate degree in a relevant field (computer science, engineering, mathematics, physics).
• 3 years of minimum experience with programming languages such as C/C++ and Python.
• Collaboration, teamwork, and knowledge sharing within the group.
• Research-minded and curious with a keen interest in new technology development.
• Computer literate.
• Excellent written and oral English-language skills will be required.
