About The Role

  • We're looking for an experienced and approachable
  • People & Culture Advisor to join our team on a

12-month fixed-term contract to provide maternity cover .

Working closely with the Head of People, you'll play an important role in delivering a proactive and effective People & Culture service across the organisation.

This is a varied, hands‑on role covering the full employee lifecycle, including employee relations, recruitment and onboarding, HR administration, payroll support, employee engagement, compliance and Absence Management.

You'll be a trusted point of contact for employees and managers, providing practical and consistent advice while helping us maintain an engaging, compliant and well‑organised working environment.

  • What You'll Be Doing
  • Provide day‑to‑day People & Culture advice and guidance to employees and managers across a range of HR matters.
  • Support and advise managers on employee relations matters, including absence, performance, conduct and other people‑related issues.
  • Support recruitment activity from vacancy approval and advertising through to interviews, offers and onboarding.
  • Prepare and maintain accurate employee documentation, including contracts, offer letters and other employment correspondence.
  • Maintain accurate and confidential employee records within HR systems, ensuring compliance with GDPR and company policies.
  • Support payroll processes by collating, checking and providing accurate employee and payroll information.
  • Support employee onboarding, probation, changes to employment and offboarding activities.
  • Contribute to employee engagement initiatives.
  • Help ensure our people practices remain compliant with employment legislation, internal policies and procedures.
  • Produce and maintain HR reports and people metrics, including headcount, turnover and other department KPIS.
  • Support the review and development of People & Culture policies, processes and documentation.
  • Identify opportunities to improve HR processes and employee experience.
  • Support and contribute to wider People & Culture projects and continuous improvement initiatives.

About You

We're looking for someone who is confident and experienced in working in a generalist People & Culture/HR environment and comfortable managing a varied workload.

You’ll ideally have

  • Previous experience in an HR Advisor or similar generalist HR role.
  • Experience providing practical HR advice and guidance to managers and employees.
  • Good working knowledge of UK employment law and HR best practice.
  • Experience supporting employee relations matters.
  • Experience of recruitment and onboarding processes.
  • Strong HR administration skills with excellent attention to detail.
  • Experience using HR systems and Microsoft Office.
  • The ability to handle sensitive and confidential information appropriately.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the confidence to build effective relationships across the business.
  • A proactive, organised and solutions-focused approach.
  • The ability to work independently while collaborating closely with the wider team.

Desirable

  • CIPD qualification or working towards CIPD accreditation.
  • Experience supporting payroll processes.
  • Experience working within a regulated or fast-paced environment.
