Company Description Cyclo Monster is an independent, customer-focused bike shop in Spondon, established in 2013 and known for its friendly, specialist service.

The shop offers a wide range of quality bikes from leading brands such as Cube, Focus, Kalkhoff, Frog, Scott, and State Bicycles, with over 100 models typically on display.

Customers benefit from professional bike fitting, custom builds, and tailored upgrades, including gear changes, wheel upgrades, and custom saddle fits.

A fully equipped workshop staffed by qualified mechanics provides everything from simple repairs to high-end custom builds, plus free quotes and bike health checks.

Cyclo Monster works with major cycle-to-work schemes and draws on deep experience across road, MTB, cyclocross, and BMX cycling, both competitive and social.

We are looking for an enthusiastic, organised, and customer-focused

E-Commerce & Shop Floor Sales Assistant to join our team.

This hybrid role combines online retail operations with face-to-face customer service, making it ideal for someone who enjoys both digital retail and working directly with people.

You’ll play a key role in ensuring our online store runs smoothly while also delivering exceptional service to customers visiting the shop.

From processing online orders and maintaining accurate product listings to helping customers find the right bike, parts, and accessories, no two days are the same.

Assistant Manager in the Store Manager’s absence, helping to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the business while providing a clear pathway for future career progression.

Key Responsibilities

  • E-Commerce
  • Process and fulfil online customer orders accurately and efficiently.
  • Create, update, and maintain online product listings, including descriptions, pricing, specifications, and images.
  • Maintain accurate stock levels across the website and point-of-sale system.
  • Monitor inventory and report stock discrepancies.
  • Respond to customer enquiries via email, telephone, and online channels.
  • Assist with website promotions, new product launches, and seasonal campaigns.
  • Work closely with suppliers and the workshop to ensure accurate product availability.
  • Shop Floor Sales
  • Deliver outstanding customer service to every visitor.
  • Provide knowledgeable advice on bicycles, accessories, clothing, components, and maintenance products.
  • Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale system.
  • Maintain attractive product displays and merchandising standards.
  • Receive deliveries, replenish stock, and keep the store clean, organised, and well presented.

When the Store Manager is unavailable, you may be required to

  • Oversee the day-to-day operation of the store.
  • Support and supervise colleagues during your shift.
  • Delegate tasks and ensure operational priorities are completed.
  • Maintain excellent customer service standards.
  • Handle escalated customer enquiries and complaints.
  • Monitor store performance and help achieve sales targets.
  • Liaise with the workshop team to ensure efficient customer service.
  • Report any significant operational or staffing issues to management.

Skills & Experience

Essential

  • Previous retail or customer service experience.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong organisational skills with great attention to detail.
  • Good computer literacy and confidence using online systems.
  • Ability to multitask and prioritise workload in a busy environment.
  • A positive, proactive attitude and willingness to learn.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team.

Desirable

  • Experience using e-commerce platforms such as Citrus Lime, Shopify, Woo Commerce, or similar.
  • Knowledge of retail stock management and point-of-sale systems.
  • Previous experience as a Keyholder, Senior Sales Assistant, or Team Leader.
  • Supervisory or leadership experience.
  • A passion for cycling and a good knowledge of bikes, parts, accessories, and clothing.
