Salary: £49,639 - £54,778. Salary on appointment will be a reflection on current experience within the pay band.

Contract: Full time, permanent contract (part-time will also be considered).

Location: While this role is based in our central Glasgow office, we are committed to flexible working and operate a hybrid working policy.

About the role: Are you looking for the next challenge or an opportunity to assist in growing a successful engineering business? We are looking for a talented and enthusiastic Principal Engineer to make a real difference for people and the environment in the sustainable transport sector. Transport Planning and Engineering Ltd (TP&E) is an active travel and engineering consultancy. We apply all round engineering excellence to the specific field of active travel infrastructure to tackle some of Scotland’s greatest challenges, including climate change, reducing transport inequalities and improving health and wellbeing for all. We are also unique in that as a social enterprise, established by Cycling Scotland, our profits go directly back into supporting projects to allow people all over Scotland to enjoy cycling and walking.

As a senior member of the team, you will lead on the design and delivery of a wide range of active travel projects from inception to completion in both urban and rural environments. Projects include structural and road-based design schemes throughout Scotland, working to the latest design standards and recognising worldwide best practice. The role offers great variety with the opportunity to enable the development of staff with mentoring available to support those working towards chartership if you choose to, whilst continuing in your role as an expert in the growing active travel industry.
