DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES:
- To be fully conversant with the facilities, services and special promotions offered by the hotel and to pass this information on to the guest whenever the possibility arises to maximise hotel sales.
- To ensure that you are aware of hotel availability and take every opportunity to maximise room sales.
- Increase room revenue by supervising effectiveness of room category upselling.
- Maintain, update and share information in the areas of a master calendar of external events, competitor rate intelligence.
- Understand the composition of hotel profitability and use this to evaluate business from local accounts and groups so as to provide input to future rate setting and negotiation.
- Monitor competitor pricing for all revenue generating departments, understand the dynamic of the local market and the demand generators and recommend appropriate actions in relation to the hotel's pricing and market mix strategy.
- Always understanding of the department’s financial requirements.
- Complete and generate reports upon request from the Management Team, as and when required.
- Conduct weekly rate/sell strategy reports for meetings upon request.
- Ensure that you and all team members have a sound knowledge of the local area regarding history, places of interest and special events and where further information can be obtained.
- Complete administration tasks set as and when required.
- Support the Reception team by covering shifts.
- Ability to work in a dynamic and fast-moving environment.
- Have high energy and a fearless do-it-yourself attitude.
- Desire to learn and develop.
- Someone who comes to work with a smile and wants to make sure everyone around you leaves with a smile.
- Fluency in English.
- A sense of humour.
