The 55 by Le Mirage is Bayswater’s Premier Boutique Hotel, situated with close connections to Notting Hill, Hyde Park and Paddington. We look for people who are thoughtful and reliable and who show they care by making guests feel totally comfortable – like part of the family. We are seeking a proactive and reliable Maintenance Assistant to support the smooth operation and upkeep of the hotel. This is a hands‑on role where you will help ensure the hotel remains safe, functional, and welcoming for both guests and team members while maintaining the highest operational standards.

Your Core Purpose

  • Assist with the maintenance operations of the hotel to ensure the safety and comfort of guests and team members.
  • Follow hotel standards to ensure company quality standards are consistently maintained while meeting business needs.
  • Support the upkeep and presentation of the hotel through a proactive and hands‑on approach.

This role requires flexibility to meet the needs of the business, including working varied shifts and weekends where required.

Key Responsibilities

  • Maintenance & Repairs
    • Carry out short‑term reactive maintenance work, including urgent repairs affecting guest bedrooms and hotel services.
    • Ensure all work is completed efficiently while minimising disruption to guests.
    • Assist in maintaining operational standards to the highest possible level.
  • Preventative Maintenance
    • Conduct regular walk rounds of the hotel and grounds to identify and report potential issues.
    • Support planned preventative maintenance programmes across the property.
    • Carry out painting and decorating works as required.
  • Health & Safety
    • Use, operate, and store all tools, equipment, and materials safely and securely.
    • Ensure compliance with statutory regulations and hotel procedures, including COSHH.
    • Follow all health and safety procedures while carrying out maintenance tasks.
  • Operational Support
    • Work closely with other hotel departments to support day‑to‑day operations.
    • Respond promptly to maintenance requests and prioritise urgent issues.
    • Maintain a professional and helpful approach at all times.

About You

  • Previous maintenance or general repair experience preferred.
  • Basic knowledge of painting, decorating, and general maintenance tasks.
  • A proactive and practical approach with strong problem‑solving skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Flexible, reliable, and organised with a positive “can‑do” attitude.
  • Experience within a hotel or hospitality environment is advantageous but not essential.
