What the role does
Working within the End User Support team, the Service Desk Engineer provides technical support and maintenance to all supported IT business users, systems, hardware, and applications. While providing expert technical support, the Service Desk Engineer will ensure incidents and requests are resolved in an efficient and professional manner in line with service level commitments. This role offers clear opportunities for progression and professional development, providing a strong pathway to grow capability and advance your career within a dynamic technology organisation.
Responsibilities
- Provide technical support and maintenance to end users, systems, hardware, and applications.
- Resolve incidents and service requests in line with agreed service levels.
- Follow processes, document work, and update tickets clearly.
- Manage time and priorities in a busy support environment.
- Maintain a positive attitude and stay calm when supporting non-technical users.
Requirements / Qualifications
- Enthusiastic, reliable, and keen to learn and progress in IT
- Knowledge of Windows 10/11 and common desktop hardware (laptops, PCs, printers)
- Exposure to Microsoft 365 (Outlook, Teams, OneDrive) or willingness to learn
- Understanding of IT fundamentals such as user accounts, passwords, and permissions
- Excellent customer service and communication skills
- Strong troubleshooting approach
- Ability to follow processes and document work
- Time management and prioritisation in a busy environment
