Job Description

Security Consultant (Defence Sector)

£90,000

Remote (UK)

We’re looking for a Senior Advisory Consultant to join our growing Advisory Practice in the UK and Ireland. In this role, you’ll work closely with experienced consultants, helping to deliver cybersecurity strategies and solutions to our clients—particularly those in the UK Defence sector.

What You’ll Be Doing

•Supporting the delivery of client projects across the UK Defence sector

•Working alongside experienced colleagues to deliver practical cybersecurity solutions

•Helping maintain strong client relationships and identifying opportunities for further work or added value

Strategic Delivery

•Contributing to security assessments and helping shape strategic security plans

•Assisting with architecture reviews and design work

•Supporting clients with compliance and regulatory requirements

•Helping to build transformation roadmaps and contribute to cloud security projects

•Getting involved in research and innovation across cybersecurity

Client-Focused Delivery

•Supporting clients to improve their overall security posture

•Assisting in security capability assessments and contributing to high-quality deliverables

•Preparing materials for workshops and client meetings

•Conducting research and analysis to support decision-making

Client Engagement

•Leading or contributing to workshops on topics like security strategy, cloud architecture, risk assessments, and technology choices

•Producing a range of client deliverables, including assessment reports, architecture diagrams, and project updates

•Carrying out security reviews by analysing documentation, reviewing technical configurations, and documenting recommendations

•Researching emerging technologies, industry regulations, and vendor capabilities

Technical Experience

3–5 years of experience in IT or cybersecurity within the Defence sector, with proven expertise in one or more of the following areas:

•MoD Security Governance and Assurance: Secure by Design, RMADs, risk assessments

•Cloud Security: Architecture documentation, mapping controls, compliance automation

•Cyber Operations in MoD: SOC tool evaluation, SIEM use cases, reporting metrics, tech integration

•Cyber Vulnerability Investigations

•Identity & Access Management: IAM reviews, privileged access, authentication technology, Zero Trust

•Operational Technology (OT) Security: OT risk assessments, vulnerability management
