I’m currently partnering with my client, a leading and well-established Building Management Systems specialist, to recruit a BMS Project Manager for their Central London operations. This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced BMS professional — or a senior engineer ready to step up — to lead high-impact projects across one of the UK’s most dynamic and fast-paced markets. My client is known for delivering intelligent, energy-efficient building solutions across complex commercial environments, and they pride themselves on fostering a culture where people are supported, developed, and empowered to succeed.
The Opportunity
This is a hybrid role offering a strong blend of flexibility, autonomy, and career progression. You’ll take ownership of multiple BMS projects across Central London, working with high-profile clients and leading delivery from inception through to completion.
Key Responsibilities
- Take full ownership of BMS project delivery — from kick-off through to commissioning and final closeout
- Develop and manage detailed project plans, including budgets, timelines, resources, and risk management
- Lead and coordinate site teams, engineers, and subcontractors across multiple projects
- Act as the primary point of contact for clients and internal stakeholders
- Oversee site activities, ensuring quality, safety compliance, and adherence to technical standards
- Provide technical leadership and mentor junior engineers
- Identify and manage commercial opportunities, variations, and additional project requirements
- Maintain accurate project documentation and ensure contractual compliance throughout
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a BMS Project Manager, or a Senior/Lead Engineer ready to progress
- Strong ability to interpret mechanical and electrical drawings, specifications, and BMS control strategies
- Proficiency with Microsoft Project and Excel for planning and financial tracking
- Experience delivering projects up to £500k in value (commercial, healthcare, or industrial sectors preferred)
- Strong working knowledge of Trend, Tridium, Siemens, or similar BMS platforms
- Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead teams and build client relationships
- Strong commercial awareness and cost control experience
- A proactive, detail-oriented, and solutions-focused mindset
- Full UK driving licence and flexibility to travel across London sites
Qualifications (Desirable)
- HNC/HND/Degree in Building Services, Electrical Engineering, or a related discipline
- Manufacturer training/certification (e.g. Trend, Siemens Desigo, Distech)
- SMSTS/SSSTS and CSCS card
