Siemens Smart Infrastructure are recruiting for a Project Manager to handle National Grid Protection, Control & Cyber Security Projects.
Location: Whilst Siemens state of art facility is based in Hebburn – near Newcastle, for a suitable candidate the role could also be home based as it will focus on the National Grid Projects in the South. The successful candidate will already be from a Project Engineer/Project Management background with Protection and Control expertise including subcontract management, site CDM management and management of commissioning activities.
The Project Manager will manage and lead a portfolio of Projects and collaborate with customer’s senior partners to ensure customer happiness, handle the programme and address any commercial issues. To meet these objectives, together with the rest of the Project Team, the PM will establish, implement and maintain the project delivery strategy.
Key Responsibilities:
- Overall responsibility for the project P&L performance.
- Tendering and delivery of Projects in order to meet the agreed business objectives and with a full understanding of the contract, seek innovative ways to expand the business derived from the Projects delivered.
- Develop & maintain an excellent customer relationship to achieve long-term customer retention and happiness for growth potential.
- Lead third parties to deliver services to contracted requirements.
- Ensuring project execution is undertaken in accordance with current HSE legislation.
- Improve business performance through cost reduction utilising business improvement initiatives.
- Supervise and improve performance against agreed Business KPIs.
Requirements:
- Formal qualifications to HNC Level in Engineering related subject, a minimum requirement.
- Able to demonstrate significant knowledge in the Transmission & Distribution Sector with respect to Protection & Control Technology and systems.
- Proven evidence of successful project execution and management of multi-disciplined project teams and third parties throughout the entire Project lifecycle – tendering, planning, design, manufacture, test, installation & commissioning.
- Knowledge of current SHEQ legislation.
