Shell Renews Multimillion-Dollar iHawk Contract
Shell Renews Multimillion-Dollar iHawk Contract with Cyberhawk to Power Digital Transformation Across Global Energy Project
EDINBURGH β June 16, 2025 β Cyberhawk, a global leader in drone-based inspection and survey services and visual data management software, is pleased to report the renewal of its five-year global agreement with Shell. The comprehensive iHawk contract will extend their successful collaboration to projects and assets worldwide and serve a user base that has expanded to more than 6,000. This renewed multimillion-dollar agreement reaffirms Shell\βs commitment to leveraging Cyberhawk\βs iHawk cloud-based visual data management platform as a cornerstone of digital transformation across assets and capital projects worldwide.
Initially deployed to ensure oversight and transparency as part of a landmark $10 billion capital project in 2016, Shell\βs deployment of iHawk has since scaled globally as a visualization and data integration platform across Shell\βs portfolio, supporting projects and assets from large engineering and construction developments to retail infrastructure.
Over the past several years, the partnership has grown significantly in scale and scope. Following the initial project, Shell and Cyberhawk signed a global five-year agreement, which was recently renewed after demonstrating substantial operational and strategic value. Today, iHawk is utilized by Shell in dozens of countries across four continents, with more than 6,000 users across all Shell\βs business units. The partnership with Cyberhawk enables Shell to digitally manage projects at any scale, from anywhere in the world, both for efficient project execution and future asset performance assessments.
\βShell recognized early on the agility and customization that Cyberhawk and iHawk bring to the table,\β said Patrick Saracco, SVP of Sales for Europe, Middle East and Africa at Cyberhawk. \βWhat began as a single capital project has expanded into a long-term global partnership. We now collaborate with Shell to tailor iHawk\βs development roadmap to their evolving needs. This joint innovation effort has shifted the yardstick for what is possible in this space.\β
iHawk\βs value is that it is intuitive, data agnostic, and democratizes data to all relevant stakeholders, creating a single-entry point for visualizing, navigating, and managing vast and complex project data. Its user-centric design has made it a cornerstone tool within Shell\βs digital ecosystem.
The iHawk platform delivers impressive value and cost savings across Shell\βs operations:
- Operational efficiency: Reducing logistical and on-site visit costs
- Faster decision-making: Cutting time spent locating and validating project documents
- Risk mitigation: Minimizing and resolving supply chain disputes through data transparency and visual verification
Cyberhawk\βs collaboration with Shell exemplifies the platform\βs appeal beyond traditional asset owners. Today, iHawk is being adopted by major engineering, procurement, and construction (EPC) contractors and other global operators, demonstrating its flexibility and impact at every level of the energy value chain.
As Shell continues to advance its global infrastructure and decarbonization ambitions, Cyberhawk remains a key partner in ensuring its capital projects are digitally enabled, data-driven, and more collaborative than ever before.
