I'm partnering with a well-funded, early-stage cybersecurity intelligence company building a next-generation third-party and supply chain risk platform. They've closed seed funding, are preparing for Series A, and are now making a foundational engineering hire - someone who wants real ownership, architectural influence, and the chance to help shape a company from the ground up. This is not a "ticket factory" role. This is build-the-foundations properly.

The Opportunity - You'll join as a Senior Lead Software Engineer, working closely with the Director of Engineering to:

  • Design and build scalable backend services (Python)
  • Architect systems that ingest and process large-scale intelligence data
  • Own and evolve AWS infrastructure (ECS, Lambda, RDS, S3, event-driven systems)
  • Implement Infrastructure-as-Code (Terraform)
  • Establish engineering standards, patterns and best practices
  • Influence architectural direction as the platform matures
  • Help hire and mentor future engineers
  • Strong backend focus, but you're comfortable contributing across the stack when needed.

What They’re Looking For:

  • 4+ years backend experience (strong Python)
  • Hands-on AWS infrastructure experience in production environments
  • Experience building scalable systems in startup or scale-up environments
  • Comfortable owning problems end-to-end
  • Someone who cares about doing things properly from day one

Bonus if you’ve worked with:

  • Data pipelines or high-volume ingestion systems
  • Graph/relationship modelling
  • Security, risk or intelligence platforms

Why This Role Is Different:

  • Early, high-impact hire
  • Direct influence over architecture and engineering culture
  • Meaningful equity upside
  • Product solving real-world cyber, supply-chain and financial risk challenges
  • Opportunity to build the backbone of a platform entering rapid growth

If you’re currently in a larger org and miss real ownership - or you’re in a startup and want something more technically ambitious - this is worth a conversation.
