We are hiring on behalf of our client, an earlyâstage risk and intelligence technology company, for a Director of Engineering. This is a handsâon leadership role responsible for driving the next stage of technical and organisational growth, scaling the platform, and building a highâperforming engineering team.
About the Role
You will take full ownership of the platform architecture, data pipelines, integrations, and multiâtenant SaaS infrastructure. This is a highly visible, strategic role where you will work closely with the founder and early customers, ensuring the platform is scalable, secure, reliable, and enterpriseâready.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the full platform architecture, including ingestion, scoring, data stores, APIs, and dashboards.
- Lead AI/MLâpowered enrichment and scoring systems.
- Build and scale microservices, eventâdriven pipelines, and automated intelligence workflows.
- Harden cloud infrastructure and implement security, compliance, and CI/CD best practices.
- Convert manual intelligence processes into automated, repeatable workflows.
- Build, mentor, and develop a small but highly capable engineering team.
- Collaborate with product and customerâfacing teams to translate requirements into technical solutions.
Ideal Experience
- 10+ years in software engineering, including senior or directorâlevel leadership experience.
- Strong experience with cloud platforms, microservices, distributed systems, and data engineering.
- Solid security and compliance knowledge; experience with SOC2, ISO27001, CE+, or similar standards is a plus.
- Experience building earlyâstage or founding engineering teams.
- Comfortable balancing handsâon engineering with strategic leadership.
- Experience in risk analytics, intelligence, or security data is advantageous.
