We are looking for a Staff Quality Architect to be the technical authority on quality within our engineering organisation. This is a high-impact, hybrid role: you will be a strategic consultant during the design phase, a mentor to the team, and a hands-on engineer who builds the automation frameworks that power our development. You won’t just find bugs—you will design the systems that prevent them.

Responsibilities:

  • Partner with Product and Engineering to design comprehensive test strategies for complex features.
  • Act as a mentor and coach to foster a "built-in quality" mindset, empowering developers to own their test plans and move quality upstream in the SDLC.
  • Lead the definition of "Quality" for all new initiatives, ensuring test strategies are prioritised based on product needs, customer feedback, and risk areas.
  • Design, build, and maintain scalable automation frameworks and shared libraries that enable feature teams to assert quality autonomously.
  • Contribute to the development of debugging tools and infrastructure that make high-quality practices seamless and efficient for the entire engineering team.
  • Conduct rigorous code reviews for both application and test code to ensure automation suites are as clean, maintainable, and performant as production code.
  • Own the quality gates within the release process to ensure every release meets the highest standards of security and reliability.
  • Work with developers to define and execute test plans for every feature under development, ensuring they align with the broader product strategy.
  • Analyze test reports and system health to identify flakiness or gaps, providing targeted feedback where extra attention is needed.
  • Own the reporting of internal and external quality metrics (including customer and field feedback), to help the team find the right balance between shipping new features and fixing existing issues.

Qualifications:

  • Deep expertise in automated software testing methodologies and tools.
  • You can write and understand code in TypeScript and/or Go.
  • Proven track record of designing and implementing end-to-end automation frameworks (UI, API, and Integration) from scratch.
  • You have experience influencing and coaching developers to take ownership of their own testing and quality practices.
  • Holistic understanding of quality for security products, encompassing performance, resilience, and vulnerability assessment.
  • Fluent in English, with the ability to explain complex technical quality trade-offs to both engineers and product stakeholders.
