A fast-growing Managed IT Services Provider supporting 5,000+ users across 100+ businesses is looking for a Cyber Security–focused Solutions Engineer to join its expanding engineering team. This is a hands‑on, client‑facing role focused on securing client infrastructures, identifying vulnerabilities, and implementing best‑practice security solutions across on‑prem and cloud environments.

The Role

  • Design and implement security solutions across client environments (firewalls, endpoint, cloud security)
  • Lead and support cyber incident response, investigation, and remediation
  • Conduct vulnerability assessments, penetration testing, and risk mitigation
  • Implement and manage security monitoring, reporting, and alerting tools
  • Advise clients on cyber security best practices, policies, and frameworks
  • Act as a trusted security advisor to clients, providing clear, actionable guidance
  • Collaborate with wider engineering teams and mentor junior engineers

Technical Skills & Experience

  • Strong hands‑on experience with firewalls (e.g. Palo Alto, Fortinet)
  • Experience with EDR solutions (Microsoft Defender, Sophos, Bitdefender)
  • Knowledge of SIEM platforms and IDS/IPS technologies
  • Strong network and cloud security experience (Azure, AWS, VPNs, VLANs, DNS, TCP/IP)
  • Endpoint security deployment and management
  • Incident response experience (SOC exposure beneficial)
  • Cyber Essentials & Cyber Essentials Plus knowledge/certification
  • Understanding of GDPR, ISO 27001, NIST frameworks
  • Penetration testing, vulnerability management, and risk assessment experience
  • Strong client‑facing communication and project delivery skills
