The opportunity

You can be based at our Canary Wharf office in London or our Edinburgh office. You will be required to be onsite three times per week. EY’s EMEIA Cyber Practice is continuing to grow, and the UK Financial Services team is looking for Cyber Security Consultants / Senior Consultants with experience across Cyber Security, with a particular focus on Identity and Access Management (IAM). You will join a team of over 1,000 Cyber professionals across EMEIA and work with the UK practice providing Cyber advisory services to leading Financial Services organisations.

Your key responsibilities

  • As part of the UK Financial Services Cyber team, you will work as a core member of client engagement teams, supporting the delivery of cyber security workstreams and acting as a trusted advisor to clients under the guidance of Managers, Senior Managers and Directors.
  • You will contribute to the delivery of cyber projects by applying your technical and industry knowledge, helping clients understand cyber risks and supporting the design and implementation of pragmatic, fit-for-purpose solutions.
  • You will also support internal initiatives, knowledge sharing and continuous improvement activities in line with EY’s commitment to quality.
  • You will typically be responsible for delivering defined work packages within larger engagements, identifying potential risks or issues and escalating these appropriately.
  • You will be encouraged to contribute to a positive team culture and support the development of more junior colleagues through coaching and knowledge sharing.

Support the delivery of Cyber Security and IAM engagements for Financial Services clients:

  • Contribute to client workshops, analysis, design artefacts and documentation.
  • Support business development activities, including proposal writing and preparing client presentations.
  • Work with senior team members on go-to-market activities across the UK and Europe.
  • Assist with engagement management activities such as tracking deliverables, timelines and effort.
  • Build strong working relationships with clients and EY colleagues across Consulting and other service lines.

People responsibilities

  • Support and collaborate with junior team members on project delivery.
  • Contribute to performance feedback and knowledge sharing within the team.
  • Get involved in people initiatives such as recruitment, training and community activities within the Cyber practice.

Skills and attributes for success

To qualify for the role, you must have:

  • Experience working with Financial Services organisations in a cyber security or technology risk context.
  • An understanding of cyber security risks and controls, and how these apply within complex business or transformation programmes.
  • Experience in at least one IAM domain, such as:
    • Identity governance
    • Privileged access management
    • Authentication and authorisation
  • Exposure to the implementation or configuration of IAM solutions, such as:
    • Azure AD / Entra ID
    • SailPoint (IIQ or IdentityNow)
    • Saviynt
    • CyberArk
    • Ping Identity
  • Strong analytical and communication skills, with the ability to explain technical concepts to non-technical stakeholders.
  • Experience working in project-based or consulting environments.

Ideally, you’ll also have:

  • Some exposure to cyber security architecture, including cloud environments.
  • Awareness of data protection and data loss prevention concepts.
  • Familiarity with security testing, threat or regulatory frameworks (e.g. NIST, MITRE, CBEST, TIBER).
  • Interest in developing a consulting career within cyber security and identity.
