The predicted salary is between 50000 - 60000 € per year.

Due to the sensitive nature of this role, you may be required to undergo DV (Developed Vetting) level Security Clearance. An allowance of £5k per annum may be payable monthly while you hold this DV and continue to work in a role that requires that level of security clearance. The terms of this allowance will be made available if you are successful in being recruited into this role.

About this role: Security incidents carry financial cost and can impact our brand and reputation. Proactively preventing, detecting and responding to incidents allows BT to reduce risk to the business and our customers. Any large organisation needs a centralised facility responsible for every aspect of Security, hardening the business posture from attack. Your role places real value in finding and adapting ways to protect and support our people, customers & communities. This job role is based near Reading. Hybrid (4 days a week client site based & 1 day remote) Mon-Fri 37.5. DV Security Clearance is required. Must have lived in the UK for 10+ years to obtain clearance.

What you'll be doing: As a member of the Cyber Security Monitoring and Response team you will respond to immediate complex security threats. Responsible for working in a Security Operation Centre (SOC) environment. Procedure creation and continuous improvement. Responsible for initial triage on alerts and incidents. The SOC team's goal is to detect, analyse, and respond to cybersecurity incidents using a combination of cutting-edge technology and a strong set of processes.

Desirable Skills/Experience:

  • Experience working in a fast-paced operational security environment
  • Knowledge of Security management, network and information security, people security and running of one or more services within a Security Operations Centre.
  • 1 years' experience working within an IT/IP network-based environment
  • CompTIA Network+, Security+, CSA+ and/or CEH or equivalent
  • Experience working in a customer facing environment
  • Experience in one of the following toolsets: Elastic/Kibana, Darktrace, Microsoft Sentinel/Defender
