Our client, a leading law firm, is seeking a commercially minded lawyer to join its Contentious Data Protection & Information Governance team on a 12-month FTC. You will advise on complex data protection disputes, privacy matters, cyber incidents, data breaches and individual rights requests, supporting clients across a range of sectors on business‑critical and high‑profile issues.

Contract type: 12 month fixed‑term contract
Salary: £65,000 - £85,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
Key Responsibilities- Advise clients on data subject access requests (DSARs) and other individual rights requests
- Support clients in responding to data breaches, cyber incidents and security events
- Manage contentious data protection and privacy disputes, including associated litigation
- Assist with regulatory investigations, complaints and enforcement action
- Provide strategic advice on information governance, records management and privacy compliance issues
- Draft legal documents, correspondence and client advice with accuracy and attention to detail
- Work closely with colleagues across disputes, regulatory, technology and cyber teams to deliver seamless client service
- Build and maintain strong client relationships while contributing to business development initiatives
Solicitor in England and Wales with experience in data protection, privacy, information governance, cyber security or related disputes work. Experience handling DSARs, individual rights requests, data breaches or regulatory investigations is highly desirable.
