We're supporting a well‑established insurance broker in Central London seeking a GCP Data Engineer for an initial short‑term engagement, with strong potential for continued work. This role requires a hands‑on contractor who can quickly integrate into an existing data function, take ownership of deliverables, and provide immediate impact within a fast‑paced commercial setting.
Responsibilities
- Design, build, and maintain scalable data pipelines within GCP
- Utilise core services including BigQuery, Cloud Storage, Dataflow, Pub/Sub, and Cloud Functions
- Enable efficient data ingestion, transformation, and optimisation for downstream analytics
- Collaborate with data, analytics, and engineering stakeholders to deliver business‑critical outputs
- Ensure best practices across data quality, performance, and security
- Troubleshoot and resolve issues across the data platform
Requirements
- Proven experience as a GCP Data Engineer in commercial environments
- Strong hands‑on expertise with BigQuery and modern data architectures
- Advanced SQL skills and experience with Python (or similar)
