Senior ICT Infrastructure Analyst
I am recruiting for an experienced Senior ICT Infrastructure Analyst to join a large, complex organisation in Northern Ireland.
This is a hands-on role supporting a secure and reliable ICT environment across multiple locations, with a strong focus on server administration, networking, Microsoft cloud services and operational cyber security.
The Role
Key responsibilities will include
- Providing technical support and advice to users in person, by phone and by email.
- Diagnosing and resolving technical issues, documenting root causes and implementing preventative measures.
- Patching and maintaining Microsoft Windows Server environments running on Hyper-V 2019.
- Supporting and managing services within Microsoft Azure.
- Managing Microsoft Exchange 2016 or later, on-premises email and Microsoft 365 email services.
- Managing mailboxes, permissions and distribution lists.
- Administering Microsoft Active Directory and Microsoft cloud identity.
- Supporting in-house Microsoft applications, Dev Ops pipelines and Company Portal.
- Managing and configuring TCP/IP network equipment, including switches.
- Investigating system alerts and supporting the ongoing monitoring of cyber security controls.
- Supporting Microsoft Defender, Microsoft Sentinel and day-to-day operational cyber requirements.
- Contributing to disaster recovery and contingency planning.
- Supporting secure remote access, Windows 10 or later device configurations and smart devices.
- Building effective relationships with senior stakeholders and providing clear technical advice and guidance.
Essential Criteria
- Applicants must meet one of the following qualification and experience routes:
- Route 1
- A minimum of an HND in Computing or another discipline relevant to Information and Communications Technology; and
- At least one year's experience working in a challenging Infrastructure Support or Service Desk environment.
Courses must have a computing content of at least 50%. Relevant formal qualifications considered equivalent to, or higher than, an HND may also be accepted.
- Route 2
- At least three years' experience working in a challenging Infrastructure Support or Service Desk environment.
Relevant experience may include time completed as part of a work placement.
Technical Experience
Applicants must also have at least one year's experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Microsoft Infrastructure
- Managing Microsoft Windows Server 2012 or later.
- Working within a Windows Hyper-V 2019 environment.
- Managing Microsoft Exchange 2016 or later.
- Supporting on-premises and Microsoft 365 email environments.
- Supporting Microsoft Azure.
- Experience with Microsoft Defender and Microsoft Sentinel.
- Networking
Support and administration of a TCP/IP-based network, including experience with at least two of the following:
- Remote access equipment
- Firewalls
- Switches
- Routers
