We are seeking an experienced Data Solutions Architect to design and govern secure, scalable, and resilient data solutions across modern cloud and analytics platforms. This role is technically led, with a strong emphasis on architecture assurance, security, and delivery within regulated or high-risk environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Solution & Technical Architecture
- Design end-to-end data solutions spanning application, data, integration, infrastructure, and security
- Define current-state, target-state, and transition architectures with phased migration roadmaps
- Translate functional and non-functional requirements into robust, compliant solution designs
- Make and clearly articulate technology choices and architectural trade-offs
- Cloud & Data Platforms
- Design solutions on modern cloud data platforms (e.g. Azure Databricks, Microsoft Fabric)
- Apply distributed data processing patterns using Spark-based technologies
- Align solutions to cloud landing-zone and enterprise-scale patterns, including identity and secure connectivity
- Architecture Governance & Assurance
- Produce clear, auditable architecture artefacts (HLDs, LLDs, ADRs, options appraisals)
- Act as design authority on complex data programmes
- Support architecture governance forums including design reviews and Architecture Review Boards
- Engineering & Delivery
- Work closely with engineers to ensure architecture translates into effective implementation
- Support build-phase conformance and technical decision-making
- Apply platform engineering principles including IaC, CI/CD, and DevOps practices
- Integration & Security
- Design integrations using APIs, event-driven, and service-based patterns
- Ensure solutions meet security, resilience, performance, and availability requirements
- Consulting & Stakeholder Engagement
- Engage confidently with client architects, engineers, security, and senior stakeholders
- Provide strong documentation, delivery reporting, and RAID support
- Enable knowledge transfer, capability uplift, and smooth exit or transition planning
Skills & Experience
- Proven experience in technical or solution architecture across modern data platforms
- Strong background in secure and regulated environments
- Hands-on experience with cloud, distributed processing, and integration patterns
- Excellent communication, documentation, and design-authority skills
