We're looking for a Data Platform Architect to join a growing consulting team delivering large-scale data, analytics and AI transformation programmes across government and other highly regulated environments.

This is a role for someone who enjoys operating at the intersection of architecture, engineering and client engagement.

You'll be trusted to shape technical strategy, influence senior stakeholders, and lead the design of modern cloud-native platforms that enable organisations to make better use of their data and accelerate AI adoption.

You'll work across the full data lifecycle, helping clients modernise legacy estates, implement scalable cloud solutions and develop the foundations needed to support advanced analytics, machine learning and generative AI capabilities.

Responsibilities

  • Designing and delivering enterprise-scale data, analytics and AI platforms in AWS environments.
  • Defining target-state architectures, technology roadmaps and strategic data capabilities.
  • Building cloud-native solutions across data ingestion, transformation, storage, governance, analytics and AI workloads.
  • Designing architectures that support both batch and real-time streaming data processing.
  • Creating API-first and microservices-based solutions that can scale with business demand.
  • Supporting the adoption of Machine Learning, Generative AI, Foundation Models and Agentic AI approaches within enterprise environments.
  • Advising clients on data governance, security, compliance and responsible AI practices.
  • Working closely with engineers and delivery teams to ensure architecture is translated into practical, scalable solutions.
  • Leading technical teams across multiple workstreams and acting as the senior escalation point for architectural challenges.
  • Building strong relationships with senior stakeholders and helping shape technology and investment decisions.
  • Mentoring architects and engineers, helping to develop capability across the wider team.
  • Driving best practice across MLOps, AIOps, CI/CD and modern cloud engineering approaches.

Qualifications

  • Extensive experience designing and delivering modern data platforms, analytics solutions and AI architectures.
  • Deep expertise in AWS-based data and analytics ecosystems.
  • Strong understanding of cloud-native architecture and distributed systems.
  • Experience designing solutions across the entire data value chain.
  • Proven experience with real-time, streaming and event-driven architectures.
  • Experience integrating AI and Machine Learning services into production platforms.
  • Strong knowledge of data governance, security, master data management and regulatory requirements.
  • Ability to influence senior stakeholders and communicate complex technical concepts to both technical and non-technical audiences.
  • Experience leading large multidisciplinary teams delivering complex transformation programmes.
  • Active SC Clearance.
